Educational Play Areas - Construction & Design

A  play area project might typically invlove earthworks, tarmac and rubber safer surfacing as well as the installation of play equipment, fencing and gates, street furniture, Willow tunnels, woodland and wildflower planting areas, outdoor classrooms,canvas shade sails, musical and sensory zones.

We comply with all standards governing the insallation of children's play equipment for example critical fall heights - particularly when installing the safer surfacing in and around the play equipment.

We recently designed and built a large play area at Ringway Primary School . We undertook the full design responsibility for the project and used all our own skilled staff to construct a children's trike track, Willow tunnels, an outdoor classroom, sensory planting areas,a digging area,  paving, fencing, tarmacing and lighting. Our staff also installed  musical hangers  and an  electronically shuttered canopy for outside storage. The project was part funded by Surestart and was widely recognised as an example of excellence both in design and construction. It was officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Manchester.

We are often asked to undertake hard and soft landscaping works associated with play area design and construction. Our clients have found that employing a single contractor to undertake all elements of external work simplifies the administration of a contract.
